As we’ve all seen to many peoples dismay this summer has been a damp, bright paradise for gardeners. This has meant we have had some wonderful results from our allotment with the hard work of our staff and members. Aside from the lettuce, carrots, potatoes, spring onion, garlic and dill that we grew we had some incredible results from our radishes. It all started with a little window box in March where we sewed our first seeds and produced some beautiful small pink radishes. From this we grew bold and our members decided we should grow them all summer long at the allotment. This resulted in the most amazing array of purples and pinks in radishes of all shapes and sizes. The common factor was of course the amazing taste to them as we chomped down on fresh salad.
